Facilities & Services

Medical Services

We encourage residents to keep their own GP wherever possible.  However most doctors will not travel outwith their practice’s catchment area therefore residents from further afield may need to register with a local practice.

The decision on which local practice to join would be made by the resident or with the help of their relatives and we are happy to help with this process.

Physiotherapy is arranged as required by the resident’s GP.  A dentist, optician and chiropodist all visit the home regularly to meet the needs of residents and our staff are normally able to cut nails where required.

Visitors

Visitors are welcome at any time. If you’re visiting locally, we ask that if possible you try to avoid meal times as these are usually busy times.  However, if you need to travel a long distance to get to the home and would like to join your relative or friend for a meal in the home, please let us know in advance and we’ll be happy to organise this for you.  Meal times are as follows: Breakfast 8.00 – 9.30am, Lunch 12.30 – 1.30pm, Dinner 5.00-6.00pm.

Fees

Details of our current fees and funding arrangements are available from the Matron.

Clothing & Laundry

Residents should bring their own nightclothes, dressing gown and slippers as well as everyday clothes.  All clothing will be laundered at the home and all items of clothing should be clearly named to prevent items going astray in the laundry.  Please don’t worry if you can’t manage to name clothing beforehand as we can do this for you.  We ask that all clothing should be machine washable and able to be tumble dried.

Hairdressing

Our hairdresser visits the home once a week for both ladies and gents cuts, plus shampoo and sets, blow dries and perms.

Toiletries

Toiletries can be supplied however residents may prefer to bring their own toiletries.
